Bayside Council is committed to building an inclusive and welcoming community for people of diverse sexualities, genders, and intersex variations.
Our Commitment
Bayside Council is committed to building an inclusive and welcoming community for people of diverse sexualities, genders, and intersex variations. We value the contribution of LGBTQI+ residents, workers, visitors, and community organisations, and work in partnership to reduce discrimination, celebrate diversity, and create safe spaces for everyone.
Bayside LGBTQI+ Forum and Action Plan
Council engages with LGBTQI+ community members and organisations through events such as the LGBTQI+ Inclusion Forum. Feedback from these forums informs the development of Council’s LGBTQI+ Action Plan, which outlines practical steps to strengthen inclusion, visibility, and equity across our services and community life.
Pride Month
Each June, Council celebrates Pride Month with local initiatives that highlight visibility, acceptance, and pride in our community. Past activities have included rainbow lighting and murals on local landmarks, pride flags and banners, and author talks.
Community Partners
Council works closely with several LGBTQI+ organisations and allies, including:
NSW Police LGBTQI+ Liaison Officers
These partnerships support programs, events, and awareness campaigns across Bayside.
Community Grants and Donations
Council offers funding opportunities for community organisations delivering programs for LGBTQI+ people. For more information, visit our Community Grants and Donations page.
