City of Botany Bay Section 94A Development Contributions Plan 2016
The City of Botany Bay Section 94A Development Contributions Plan 2016 came into effect on 22 June 2016. This is a fixed rate levy that is intended to supplement the operation of the existing section 94 contributions plans applying to the former City of Botany Bay, by levying those developments that are not presently required to make contributions under these contributions plans but which nonetheless generate a demand for additional public amenities and services.
What is it?
The City of Botany Bay Section 94A Development Contributions Plan 2016 came into effect on 22 June 2016. This contributions plan applies to the whole of the former City of Botany Bay and will require the payment of a fixed levy by those developments costing more than $100,000 that are not required to pay section 94 contributions.
Who does it apply to?
The levy will apply to certain types of residential and mixed use developments, as detailed in Table 1.1 within the Plan, including:
- Various types of residential accommodation
- Serviced apartments
- Mixed use development
- Employment based commercial and industrial developments
- Subdivision of land for non residential purposes
The levies will be used towards the provision, extension or augmentation of public facilities and services within the former City of Botany area in accordance with the priorities set in the Plan.
How much is it?
The amount of the levy is:
- 0.5% of the proposed cost of carrying out the development where the cost of carrying out the development is more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000
- 1% of the proposed cost of carrying out the development where the cost of carrying out the development is more than $200,000
