The Botany Aquatic Centre is a Royal Life Saving Keep Watch Centre. For the safety and
well-being of all children, our keep watch policies on child entry are:

• All children 14 years and under must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a parent or responsible person who is at least 16 years old
• Children 5 years and under must at all times be in arm’s reach of a parent or responsible person who is at least 16 years old
• Failure to follow these rules will result in denial of entry, or removal from the centre.

Our entire centre (including outdoor areas) is a non-smoking venue, this includes the use of vaping.

Parents and responsible persons are requested to ensure that children in their care observe pool rules at all times.

Swimmers are asked to shower before entering the pools.

Any patrons under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted into the centre.

Patrons are not permitted to bring glass objects into the centre.

BBQs are provided within Botany Aquatic Centre, patrons are not permitted to bring portable BBQs.

Patrons are not permitted to bring scooters, rollerblades, bicycles, and skateboards into Botany Aquatic Centre.

The following activities are prohibited at Botany Aquatic Centre:

• Running
• Ball games
• Balloons and water bombs
• Chewing gum
• Shoulder wrestling
• Boogie boards and diving into shallow water.

Abusive, disruptive, or offensive behaviour and language will not be tolerated. Offenders will be removed from the centre.

Only recognised swimwear, made from Lycra and nylon is to be worn in the pools.

Only recognised waterproof, swimmer nappies are to be worn in the water by infants. Infants not in a swimmer nappy will be removed from the water, or splash park areas.

For the safety and privacy of all patrons, photography (including the use of phone
cameras) within the centre is prohibited without management approval.

Camera surveillance (CCTV) may operate within the centre and its surrounds, to ensure public safety, and for the investigation of any offences. Footage will only be accessed by persons authorised to do so.

No pets or animals are permitted in the centre, except for Assistance Animals.

Bayside Council accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen belongings. Patrons are advised not to bring valuables to the Centre. Lockers are made available throughout the centre.

Any patrons displaying flu-like symptoms, or who are experiencing stomach illnesses, or have open cuts, sores, or skin, eye, or respiratory infections are prohibited from entering the centre.

Reasonable staff instructions must be followed at all times, for the safety of all patrons.

Bayside Council has the right to alter or change these conditions of entry. Anyone not abiding by the centre rules will be removed from the centre.

Patrons use the centre at their own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, no responsibility or liability is accepted by Bayside Council or its employees, contractors and agents for any loss, damage or injury that may arise from any person using the facilities at the Botany Aquatic Centre.

Botany Aquatic Centre is an accessible self-service venue where parents must set-up before the party, and clean up when finished.

Our picnic tables are available on a first in, first served basis. We encourage parents to arrive as early as possible to reserve a table, otherwise we have large grass areas with space for blankets. 

Four electric BBQs are also available on a first in, first served basis. BBQs can be used to cook any food you bring for the party, and must be cleaned before leaving the centre.

Outside gas, electric, or any other BBQ are not permitted to be used at the centre.

Birthday entry to BAC

Access to the venue is only permitted with an entry ticket, so organisers should arrange specific pick-up times when all children will be brought to the reception area for drop-off and pick-up.

Children can also be paged over the loudspeaker system when a parent arrives for pick-up.

Food storage

Cold food storage isn’t available at the centre, so we recommend parents bring only ready-to-eat foods and avoid ice-cream cakes, cream filled cakes or any other cold foods.

Strictly no alcohol, glass, party poppers, or water balloons and bombs are allowed on the premises.

Discount books

Discount books may be purchased to save on multiple tickets, and can be used for the rest of the season. 

• 20 x child tickets can be purchased for $85, down from $110 for 20 tickets at reception 
• 20 x adult tickets for $125, down from $150 for 20 tickets at reception.

Tickets from a discount book must be allocated to guests at reception by a person from the party.

BAC has a function space that can be booked by organisations for their commercial events.

You must register an account on Bookable before booking the space. Create an account by pressing Register in the top-right corner, selecting Organisation as the registration type and  then fill in your details. Your account will be verified up to three days after you create the account. 

Insurance

You must  have a Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency with $20 million liability, and Bayside Council must be noted as interested party on the document.

Residents can also book the function space for private parties if they have a Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency.
