About the Role:
Are you ready to kick-start your career and make a positive impact in your community? Bayside Council is offering a variety of exciting opportunities for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in various apprentice, trainee, and cadet positions.
Become a trade-qualified boilermaker and collaborate with a team of like-minded peers who love the challenge of working with metal as much as you do. Learn a wide range of practical skills that include welding and thermal cutting, technical drawing and geometric development to solidify your foundational knowledge. This is a full-time, max term position that combines practical, on-the-job learning with formal training, leading to a qualification in Engineering – Fabrication Trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpreting technical drawings
- Completing structural welding to standards
- Use of basic power tools and hand tools
- Performing welding and thermal cutting
- Working within safe work practices
We’re looking for someone with:
- Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level
- The ability to work in different environments, including on and off-site, outdoors, indoors, confined spaces and high-temperature environments
- Intermediate-level fitness to manage the physical demands of the role
- An interest in mechanical principles and concepts
- An enthusiasm for practical skills in mechanical trades, fitting and machining

Salary Range: $803.30 per week plus 11.5% superannuation.
