Are you interested in creating habitat for native plants and animals in your backyard or helping others to make a wildlife friendly garden?
We're looking for volunteers who want to get involved in our Wild Things program as 'Garden Guides', general volunteers or residents wanting to make their garden wildlife friendly.
How it works
Becoming a Garden GuideYou will attend a one-day training session with council. Once you have completed the training you and another Garden Guide buddy, will be matched up with a resident who wants to create a wildlife friendly garden and develop a garden plan with the resident.
Having your backyard made wildlife-friendlyIf you are a resident who would like to make their garden wildlife friendly, you can request a visit from the Garden Guides to develop a Garden Plan with you.
General volunteeringIf you can't commit to becoming a Garden Guide, there will be other volunteering opportunities to support the program, including promotion, developing support materials, logistics and more.
