How to do Business with Bayside Council
Becoming a successful supplier for local government can be daunting.
There are a lot of rules and regulations and understanding why and how decisions are made is important. We want to encourage potential suppliers to form profitable long-term partnerships with us, but we also need businesses to understand why councils work the way we do.
Council’s Free Development Advisory Service
Bayside Council's free Development Advisory Service provides general planning advice, which includes:
- Explaining the development approval process.
- Identifying the planning controls and policies that affect your property.
- Identifying if your proposal is classified as:

- local development
- requiring consent
- prohibited development
- Explaining the process of applying for approval.
This service is available at our Customer Service Centres at Eastgardens and Rockdale.
