Food safety campaigns
We support campaigns that promote food safety, healthy eating and waste reduction.
Scores on doors
Scores on Doors is the NSW food hygiene scoring program that reassures customers about hygiene and food safety standards. We issue 'Scores on Doors' certificates to food businesses who wish to participate in the programme.
To participate in the programme, ask your Environmental Health Inspector to join when they conduct your inspection.
We will calculate a score based on your compliance with hygiene and food safety requirements, and your Environmental Health Inspector will provide you with a certificate that you can display on your premises.
Certificates are valid for at least 12 months, or until your business has been reinspected.
Love food, hate waste
We support the NSW EPA's Love Food, Hate Waste campaign.
In NSW, more than a third of the waste we send to landfill is food. That adds up to about $10 billion worth of good food that’s being thrown away every year by NSW households.
This campaign encourages businesses to take simple steps to reduce food waste.
Healthy eating
If you run a fast food or snack food store that is part of a large chain, you must display nutrition information at the point of sale.
This is law in NSW and applies to chains that have 20 or more stores in NSW, or 50 stores nationwide.
For more information see the NSW Food Authority website.
