Gardiner Park Reference Group
In 2022, Council established the Gardiner Park Reference Group to allow interested parties to provide input on improvements and future works.
The reference group was established with community representatives, including residents and the local sporting club.
the first meeting of the reference group was in October 2022. You can view the meeting minutes in the Agendas and Minutes portal under 'City Services committee meetings'.
Recommendations
The reference group raised a range of ideas and suggested improvements for the park. Council investigated the viability of each idea and presented this information back to the group for consideration and prioritisation.
The reference group recommended Council further investigate the viability of the following priority improvements and future works at the park:
- Renew and add additional park seating
- Upgrade the playground
- Improve the walkability and accessibility of the park
- Improve the overall presentation of the park with maintenance and appropriate plantings
The reference group also endorsed the establishment of a dedicated Gardiner Park webpage to keep the community informed and updated on opportunities to have a say on future upgrades and works as they are planned.
