Learn how to compost and start your own worm farm at this free, hands-on workshop held in anticipation of International Compost Awareness Week (04 – 10 May).
This workshop focuses on how to successfully establish and maintain composting and worm farming systems to elevate your garden's productivity while reducing waste.
There will be two sessions on Saturday 3 May at 9.30am and 1pm.
The sessions are designed for beginners and for those who want to improve their processes, covering:
- How to set up and maintain a compost bin
- What to put in a compost bin
- Getting the balance right in a compost bin
- Turning compost
- How to use finished compost
- How to set up and maintain a worm farm
- What to put in a worm farm
- How to harvest castings
- How to use outputs from the worm farm, liquid and worm castings
Two lucky attendees will be randomly drawn from a list to win either a compost bin or worm farm at the end of the workshop.
Registrations are free but essential.
