Families can enjoy free entry for a last swim at the Botany Aquatic Centre on Sunday 27 April before the pool closes for redevelopment into a state-of-the-art community facility.
The Last Swim promises to be a morning of fun activities including, jumping castles, pony rides, petting zoo, rock climbing wall and a free BBQ hosted by the Botany RSL Swim Club.
Entry to the pool will be free to allow everyone to enjoy a family-friendly morning before the pool closes for renovations.
Council is looking for photos and memories from families who have enjoyed the centre over the years and is inviting residents to submit their memories that will be shared on the day.
One lucky resident who shares their memories will have the chance to be part of the final swim in the pool before it officially closes at 12.30pm.
Residents can submit their memories by using the online form below or visiting one of Council’s Customer Service Centres where Council staff can assist with making a copy of your photos.
The planned redevelopment will include upgrades to the amenities, change rooms and the kiosk, adventure waterplay and slides, a 50 metre outdoor competition pool, an indoor learn to swim pool a 25 metre indoor lap pool, a new grandstand, gym space, and landscaping.
The new Botany Aquatic Centre is expected to open for the summer 2027/28 season.
