Seniors Celebration Success

Wednesday 29 May 2024

Bayside Council celebrated its seniors with a series of free high teas to thank them for the extraordinary contribution they make to the Bayside community.

On Friday 17 May nearly 400 Bayside seniors attended two wonderful Senior High Teas that were held in the Rockdale Town Hall.

The two final sessions of this booked-out event were held at the historic Botany Town Hall on Saturday 25 May.

Seniors were treated to a delicious high tea and had the opportunity to meet with old and new friends while enjoying live entertainment and some toe tapping music.

Bayside Council is continually developing community-based programs to maximize the health and happiness of senior residents and to ensure they are socially connected and active in the community.

Senior citizen community centres located throughout Bayside also offer various community programs for those wanting to socialise and meet people with similar interests.

Bayside Mayor Bill Saravinovski said:

“This is just one way we recognise the role senior residents have in our community,” Mayor Bill Saravinovski said.

“It is an opportunity to bring our seniors together and thank them for the amazing contribution they continue to make to Bayside.”
