Bayside Council is running three Christmas competitions to help spread the spirit of Christmas across Bayside.
A Christmas Light Competition will help encourage more residents to light up their homes with dazzling light displays.
Residents who take up the challenge to light up their homes with a spectacular Christmas light display have an opportunity to win a $2000 prize.
One winner from each ward will receive $1000, with the overall winner receiving an additional $1000.
Residents can nominate their own home, or they can nominate a home in the neighbourhood.
Christmas light displays have a long history in Bayside where residents in Lynwen Crescent Banksia and Madrers Avenue Kogarah have been decorating their homes with spectacular Christmas displays for many years.
These festive Christmas light displays attract many families who come to admire the displays, and Council installs temporary one-way street signage to help manage the traffic flow.
Nominations forms will be available on Council’s website in November.
Bayside Council’s annual Christmas Design Competition to find a new design for the street flags and Christmas cards that will be used this year is also now open.
The winning flag design will feature on street flags that are flown across Bayside during the Christmas season.
The Christmas card design will be used on the Christmas cards, that are sent out by the Mayor, Councillors and the Executive team, either digitally or as printed cards.
Entries for the Christmas Flag Design close on Friday 25 October and entries for the Christmas Card Design close on Friday 8 November.
