Motorists might have already caught a glimpse of the amazing new tree lights outside Mascot Memorial Park that Bayside Council recently started testing.
Council has upgraded the old tree lighting on Botany Road to help create a visual point of interest around Mascot Memorial Park, while also improving safety.
The existing pavement lights had been damaged by water, moss, dirt and root growth, and were no longer working.
Council installed 24 new colour-changing, up-lights for the 12 trees outside Mascot Memorial Park.
The lights can be programmed to change colour and it is expected they will be used to help promote major events and community awareness campaigns.
Bayside Mayor Saravinovski said
“These new lights will help illuminate the area around Mascot Memorial Park and are part of Council’s ongoing program to improve and beautify our streetscapes,” Mayor Bill Saravinovski said.
