Preparing for a DA

Before you begin a project, you will need development approval.

There are different types of development approval, depending on the nature, size and scale of your development.

 

The NSW Government has set new expectations to speed up the assessment timeframes of Development Applications. 

Here's what you need to know:

Before you submit

Make every effort to ensure your application is correct and complete before submitting. If any information is missing the application will be returned and you will need to re-submit the entire application. To avoid this, please review your application carefully using our Development Application Lodgement Checklist.

If your application is accepted, you'll receive an invoice that must be paid within five (5) calendar days, or the application will be returned which will require you to re-submit the entire application. 

After lodging your application

Once your application is accepted Bayside Council can no longer provide extended timeframes or multiple opportunities for changes. 

Following this advice will greatly improve the assessment timeframe of your application.
